We are a registered charity (Business No: 783615800RR0001) and if you wish, you can give financial resources to us and receive a tax receipt at the end of the year (if you are in Canada) for doing so.
Practicalities
There are a few ways you can give financially:
- Send an Interac e-transfer to: abbeygiving@gmail.com
- Mail a check (payable to "West End Abbey"). Contact us for our address.
- Donate through Canada Helps (note: Canada Helps takes 3.5% of every donation in fees; you'll receive a tax receipt directly from them)
Purpose
At present, we envision our income in the following ways:
- Pastoral
- Stipends: for the work (homily preparation, faciliating services, meeting with people etc.) that our leaders do and various expenses incurred in the process.
- Administrative
- Rent: covering the cost of the physical space (the West End Resource Centre at 823 Ellice Avenue) in which we meet and have our services.
- Practical things like our website etc.
- Communal
- Celebrations (Easter Sunday, Christmas Eve, etc.)
- Varied outreach activities (hampers, contemplative gatherings etc.)
